As the New Year gets underway so does MARCOM. We have several of our traditional
events scheduled but we would also like to see some new and innovative event ideas.
If you have had an experience you think would be of interest for the club, please
present it as a possible tour or program. One of our traditional events, the flea
market/swap meet, has become one of our most successful fundraisers. This year’s
event will be held on the 5th of March at Holmes Transportation in Norfolk. There will be
sign-up sheets at our February meeting. Also our annual awards Banquet is scheduled
for March 12th at the Fireside Grill. The menu and cost will be the same as last year.

The board of Trustees are reviewing the By-Laws. We are also looking to update the
Morgan-Smith plaque. There is currently only a few spaces left for winners’ names on
the plaque. Another problem is the current plaque is heavy and difficult to display. The
feeling of the board is it should be displayed at our regular monthly meetings. I will be
sending out the nomination ballots for the award so you will be able to bring them to
the February and March meetings.
